How do you meditate for grief?
- To begin, take a comfortable seat and rest.
- Now bring to mind a personal loss.
- Start with your body and your immediate somatic experience.
- Now, bring yourself to your heart, in the middle of your chest, and simply feel the heart holding the grief, being filled and heavied by that grief.
Is meditation good for grief? While meditation doesn’t change the way we feel, it does change our experience and perspective of those feelings. Practicing mindfulness meditation for grief, or observing thoughts and feelings without judgment or reaction, helps the body and mind find peace and refuge in a time of great change.
How do you present someone who is grieving?
